Melanie S Grant
Having studied law at Oxford and completed her Articles at Payne Hicks Beach in Lincolns Inn, Melanie moved to Oakham in 1980 and joined the firm as an Assistant Solicitor in 1981. Melanie became a partner in 1986. For more than 25 years she has specialised in family law and estimates that she has probably dealt with something in the region of 2,000 relationship breakdowns. She is also a trained collaborative family lawyer and member of Resolution.

Jeremy F C Simmonds
Joining his father’s firm, after reading law at the University of Buckingham, he has since qualification in 1997 focused primarily on the areas of Wills, Probate and Estate Administration together with the more specialised area of Contentious Probate. He is a member of the Law Society’s Probate Section.

Margaret J Dainty
Margaret joined Alec Crombie, the well-known Uppingham solicitor, straight from school, initially as a secretary but in time her role became that of a legal clerk, concentrating on conveyancing and probate work. During the 30 years and more that she has worked in Uppingham, Margaret has acquired a fine reputation amongst clients and fellow professionals. She has been an invaluable addition to the Simmonds Grant team since the opening of the Uppingham office in March 2009.

Julia A Weber
Julia joined Simmonds Grant in February 2007 having relocated to this area. Julia had many years’ experience working for a large ‘flagship’ branch of the Citizens Advice Bureau in her native West Country before her desire to represent her clients’ interests more fully led to her decision to qualify as a solicitor. She graduated in law from Bristol University in 2003 and after the completion of her legal training, became a qualified solicitor in 2006.
