The Collaborative Approach

Castle Gates

Traditionally, when couples split, they each take independent advice from specialist family lawyers. Working though their lawyers, they try to reach agreement on how best to settle their differences. They work out to share the assets and their responsibilities for their children. The collaborative approach involves you and your former partner sitting together in the same room with your lawyers to work out the solutions that suit you best.
  • You need full commitment to the process and a genuine desire to resolve the issues between you.
  • You must be willing to disclose fully and honestly your financial information and all assets. The process does not work unless you are both totally honest with each other and your lawyers.
